We all arrived at Mt. Evelyn on Wednesday. The instructor named Lisa showed us round the camp
site. Everyone was so excited. Next we went to see our cabins. In my cabin was Isabella, Lara and
Chloe. We got our camp booklets that Ricky made. We looked through our activities and we found
out that we had giant swing first. We were all so scared but at the same time excited.
We went out and we got our groups. I was in koalas and the other groups were cookatoos, snakes
and wallabies. Our groups instructor was Mandy. We walked up to the giant swing. We had to put
a harness, a helmet and these googles. It was freezing. When it was my turn I put the harness, the
helmet and the googles on.My group pulled me up right to the top. I was freaking out. I said to myself
"Just pull the rope and get it over and done with" Once I pulled the rope I started swinging from side to
side. I went to the top which was 18m. I stopped breathing every time I swinged. So scary! Once
everyone had their turn we went back to line up and have a snack.
The next activity was archery. I couldn't wait to do it because I've always wanted to have this
experience. I was first beside Chloe and Lara. I shot all three times hoping to at least get my bow on
the board. Unfortunetly I didn't it on that round. The same happened on a few other rounds. Mandy
started sticking the balloons on and on the last shot she told me to try really hard. So I did and I got it
on the board. " Finally!" I felt great.
We went to our cabins did a few things then we went to have dinner which was fish and chips. That I
quite enjoyed. Maybe not the best thing I've ever had but it was still nice!
Day 2 Thursday
We had breakfast and then it was flying fox. I hopped on and held on tight to the blue rope. I flew to
the other end where one of he teachers were and where the last person that had there turn was. I got
off by a ladder and the teacher took my harnees off. I stood there waiting for the next person to come
swing by so I could bring the rope back.
When the person had their turn I grabbed the rope and ran back. The rope was pulling you back so it
made it harder. Once I did that and everyone had had their turn we had a snack.
Next was bike education. The instructor went through the instructions and then we were off and away.
I had a pink mountain bike. I'm not the biggest fan of bikes but I don't mind them.
